Giant Stamping Plate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm sooo excited to be sharing with you all this super amazing find which seemed too good to be true!!

Its a GIANT konad-esque stamping nail art plate!!! =)

Now for the too good to be true part..... It cost less than twenty quid!!! =O Plus free shipping!!! =O =O =O

Ok people... I need to breathe lol!
For those of you who don't know why i'm dying over this....its because basically a real Konad giant stamping plate will cost you about £109 (http://www.blushcosmetics.com/nail-art/prod_3832.html). Although that is for real Konad, so expensive is expected,  however, a Fauxnad giant image plate will still cost you a lot... around £75 (http://www.moyou.co.uk/index.php/nail-art-decoration-sets/nail-art-design-image-plates-b.html)

So er.... how on earth did I manage to get my hands on a giant plate for about £18??!!!

Well, you may or may not have heard of the site DH Gate, which is a Chinese wholesale website. They sell awesome things such as make-up (famous and expensive brands too), electronics, and um anything else you can think of, for dirt cheap prices. Most of the time though they sell items in huge bundles and so the price of one thing, eg. a MAC lipstick, could be about 50 pence, but you must buy the whole lot of say, 100 lipsticks, and pay the big bundle price in order to get it for that cheap price.
So it's not ideal for simple internet shopping lol!

But....I was surprised when I stumbled across a seller on DH Gate selling this giant image plate as a single item and not a lot! At first I was wary of buying it since the seller was brand new and did not have any feedback at all... but eventually after days of thinking it over I decided that I really really wanted it and so went ahead and bought it =)

And damn i'm so glad I did!!! =P

For the price I paid I wouldn't have minded if it came bent and unusable (which mind you it didn't!) It was extremely well packaged and arrived quickly.

These are pictures that I tried to take of it. It was sooo difficult trying to capture a decent photo since its like a giant mirror and kept reflecting things off it making it impossible to see the patterns! (Please enlarge images to view in detail)

The plate was sealed with a blue film which has to be peeled off before use. The metal image plate is also glued onto a dark blue plastic board which makes it easier to handle and avoid cutting yourself as it has rounded corners.

And here's the plate in full, again =)

These were my attempts at trying to capture close-ups of the fabulous designs on this plate =) Most of the patterns are exactly like ones that Konad produces so its amazing that I can get Konad designs without the hefty price tag!

Overall I am over the moon with this purchase and would definitely recommend this plate to everybody =)
The only negative thing that I can say about this image plate is that my fave Konad plate, M57, the one with the zebra, leopard and net design, is featured on this giant plate, however its wayyy too small!! ='(  It's smaller than the Bundle Monster designs so it'l never ever fit on my nails! the leopard print I can kind of deal with, by double stamping, but the zebra print is a waste =(

Anyway thats the only negative I have and i'm still very happy with this plate =) I can't wait to play around with it and create new mani's =)

If you're interested in purchasing this plate, you can do so over here: http://www.dhgate.com/new-large-big-size-221-fashion-designs-diy/p-ff8080812e32cf1f012e5d4159375bce.html

What do you guys think? Amazing product or can you recommend something even better??

I was not paid to review this product and neither was I given it for review. This product was purchased by me and my honest views are expressed.

Matted Polish + Shiny Polka's

Ello ello =P

I had no idea what I would do to my nails so decided to settle on doing a matte mani =) But then because I just can't seem to leave my nails plain... I added some polka dots to it =D I tried using topcoat to do the polkas, but they came out soo weird and not shiny at all so I used a metallic black polish instead.

To begin with I painted my nails in Technics Curious Violet:

I love this colour sooo much! Its a dreamy deep aubergine shade with hints of blues and silver shimmer.

Next, I mattified it by using Rimmels Matte Finish topcoat.

I reckon it looks awesome! In real life the shimmer of the purple polish was still visible so the matte effect looked even better!

And because I thought it looked boring I decided to add the polkas =) Here's what it ended up like. Btw...I didnt have the camera on me at the time so I had to take these last pics with my phone...so excuse the bad quality please..

I liked this mani but just couldn't bring myself to love it...so I got rid of literally the next day =S

But what do you lot think of it?? Have you ever tried out doing a shiny pattern over matte polish?

Another go at using good old scotch tape =)

Hello!!

I had another go at using scotch tape recently and decided to try out the 'shredded mani', as named by Erika from Chloe's Nails =)  Check out her post here which also includes a tutorial: http://chloesnails.blogspot.com/2010/11/shredded-mani.html

This is what mine ended up as:

I really wish that sometimes I had more patience in me...lol I just didn't wait and so when I added my top coat obviously it smudged =( Oh welll...

Lol anyway I used my new BYS polish in Tinkerbell which is a gorgeous salmon pink with a shot of blue sparkle through it =) After placing my tape on my nails I added MUA nail polish in shade one, which is a super shimmery deep black/blue colour =) Then I ripped the tape off and I was left with this awesome pattern!

It looks really edgy but girly too =) For some weird reason I kept doing the 'Gaga Claw' with my hands cos it just er....seemed to go with this nail design =S

Lol so what do you lot think of this design??

This nail art design was inspired again by the amazing LOVE 4 NAILS who is a youtuber and she always has the best nail designs and tutorials =) For those of you who don't know why i'm saying 'inspired again by'... this is the second time i've used one of her tutorials to create my own nail designs.

The first design I made was this one:

Okies so this is what I created today:

The polishes I used for this design were Barry M Berry Ice-cream, Barry M Nail Effects Black Magic, Silver nail art striper from ebay and rhinestones from ebay:

Firstly I began by painting my nails in Barry M's Berry Ice-cream which is the most amazing pastel lilac polish I have ever used! It was perfect in one coat but because I was using crackle polish I did two coats to make sure the polish won't tear apart lol.

Then I cracked out my crackle (er...) polish =P Lol and I swiped it diagonally on one half of my nails. Then I used a silver nail art striper pen from ebay to paint a line on the edge of the black crackle to define it. Next I used silver rhinestones from ebay in round and heart shapes. I arranged these on my nails to make them look like bows. Finally I finished with topcoat and that was that =)

This design was super easy, quick and loads of fun to do =) The video by LOVE 4 NAILS that inspired me to do this nail design can be watched here:

I hope you liked this design and maybe would like to give it a go yourself??

Maybelline Colorama FLAKIES Swatches =)

The gorgeous Sarah over at Little Miss Sparkles (http://littlemisssparkles3.blogspot.com/) asked me to swatch my Maybelline Flakies polish that I blogged about yesterday =) So hun this is for you....and everyone else reading too lol =P Enjoy!

I decided to use different base colours to make the most of the flakies and also show how they could look over different polishes. I used Models Own Purple Pearl, Zoya Kristi, Colour Club Where's the Soiree? and Accessorize Electric Blue. And that at the end is the flakie called Sonic Sunset.

Sorry about the messy painting lol I had to run downstairs to start cooking so was doing this as quickly as possible! Anyways up next are these nails plus the gorge flakies =) Btw I'd enlarge the pics to let the flakies properly show off =P

I was slowly lifting my hands upwards so that you can see the gradual colour change effect the flakies make. At the top they'r mostly orange, next they become a mixture of orange and green and then lastly they'r all green =)

Side view =)

So what do you think of this polish? Like flakies?
